DONE DEAL: ICONIC FEMALE ATHLETE SPONSORSHIP DEALS

11 May 2020

Last week, news broke out about Puma offering England international Raheem Sterling a whooping £100m to represent the brand. 💸💰🤑

If signed, this record-breaking deal would make him the highest-paid football player for the brand.  ⚽

On the back of that, Highsnobeity curated an interesting list of 'iconic athlete endorsements deals' published on Snapchat which featured only one female athlete. Naomi Osaka. 👑🎾

However, one truly isn't enough so we thought we'd curate our own list to include even more females, all iconic in their own unique way.

👀 👀 👀 👀 👀

  • KORI CARTER

Spotting a Jordan/Jumpman sponsored athlete in the world of track and field is incredibly rare but World Champion Kori Carter is quite literally "taking flight" over the 400m hurdles. 🛫

Witnessing Kori kitted out in Jordan from head to toe at meets and trials is evidence of how Jordan has evolved to embrace other sports away from Basketball court. 🏀

  • SYDNEY MCLAUGHLIN

Sydney is a prolific athlete and HAS been since high school. At 16 years old, the American hurdler became the youngest track and field athlete to make the U.S. Olympic team since 1980.

Her personality? Just as phenomenal AND she's beautiful - with just under half a million followers on the gram. Very marketable.

Sydney eventually signed for New Balance - beating the likes of top brands such as Nike. All we see is dollar signs! 🤑 $$$$$$

  • ALLYSON FELIX

Allyson made the switch-up from Nike to Athleta after her pregnancy to become the first-ever sponsored athlete for the brand.

By signing with Athleta, Allyson sent a powerful message to Nike about their flawed maternity contracts which eventually led to them making positive changes to support pregnant athletes/new mums. 🤰💜

Love. to. see.

  • SKY BROWN

11-year-old skateboarding sensation Sky Brown is the youngest Nike sponsored athlete in the world. 🌍👑

Her accolades include becoming the youngest professional skateboarder in the world at age 10.

Sensationally, Sky is set to become the youngest Summer Olympian to represent Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Who else would you include in this list?

VIRTUAL STYLE: ADIDAS FITS ON ANIMAL CROSSING

24 April 2020

According to Forbes, Animal Crossing: New Horizons tops the charts for the most talked-about game on social media across the globe - and we've definitely noticed! 👾💥

Gamers are spending even more time on their consoles amid the coronavirus pandemic and although we're not able to dress up and go out, many have created fashionable styles for their virtual gaming characters. 👕👟

This has been possible thanks to 1000's of QR Codes for Animal Crossing gamers - which have been cleverly used to create stylish custom designs.

ACTIVEWEAR BRANDS HELPING TO TACKLE GLOBAL PANDEMIC

31 March 2020

Sadly we're all currently experiencing an uncertain time whereby thousands of people are fighting for their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic. 🌍

As a result, many businesses and organisations have stepped forward to help fight the virus, including the likes of sportswear giants Nike and New Balance donating millions to support global communities.

Recognising the shortage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), brands such as Under Armour have assembled face masks, face shields and gowns to distribute to those at the frontline working incredibly hard.

Activewear brand Elissa & Stef are kindly giving away free leggings to NHS health-care workers for their efforts in keeping the country safe.

In short, the solidarity is beautiful. 💙

American Rapper Future Hendrix really meant it when he titled his song 'March Madness' and honestly, if I could "dress it up and go to NASA" - I really would.

BARBIE WORLD: WORLD-CLASS SPORTSWOMEN MADE INTO DOLLS

13 March 2020

Mattel recently unveiled a crop of female sports stars that have been made into barbie dolls and honestly, I'm sold. By carefully selecting some of the world's top female athletes, their aim is simple: to encourage and empower girls

As part of the brands 'Shero' campaign which rolled out just before International Women's Day this month, the likes of Britain's fastest woman Dina Asher-Smith and French football star Amandine Henry were gifted with one-of-a-kind dolls to celebrate their achievements. ⚽💥

Made in their exact likeness, the dolls feature tiny accessories and sports kit 🎽 that are absolutely relevant to each athlete. Although these dolls are not commercially available to cop, the significance of it is loud and clear. 📢

Women deserve to be celebrated. 🥇

Scroll to see the one-of-a-kind dolls. 👀😍
