Sustainability is a word that has been on the lips of designers hoping to push for more ethical options on the market, like Adidas x Parley’s fight for the oceans. In response to the current climate crisis, designers have cleverly come up with innovative ways to reduce harmful waste on the planet, for instance by upcycling.
Upcycled fashion refers to the process of reworking old materials to produce something unique and of higher value. Upcycled garments can look so unusual to the eye but it’s one-of-a-kind concept and design is extremely clever. *chef kiss* 😜
In line with this, HypeBae recently interviewed U.S. based designer, @friskmegood and we’re here to reiterate that you NEED to be following this babe. On Depop, Cierra Boyd sells her unique crep corsets made from thrifted Nike AF1’s and New Balance trainers. Cierra told HypeBae, “upcycling fashion is my passion because it gives me the opportunity to create art that is one-of-a-kind.”
